I dont have any installation media on hand, do you know where I could download an ISO from ? If I use dism to check the pending updates I can see a whole bunch of them. - After removal of all pending updates windows booted successfully PS I probably could of found the one true culprit but I decided this way would be quicker than removing one and waiting for a reboot to remove the next one. Helpful to verify reports of your own downtime, or to double check a downed website you are trying to access.
But when I try and do a /clean-image /revertpendingactions it doesnt remove them upon reboot. One of a set of tools we are providing to everyone as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the community.
New Asus laptop with Windows 8.1 is stuck running the following message and can't access anything on the laptop. I've forced the computer to shut down, I've even gone as far as to take the battery out, but it just comes back to the updates screen every time.
It says "Working on Updates 100% complete Don't turn off your computer". My wifi is on and my laptop is connected to the internet.
While I realize this might be time-consuming, this method prevented almost every Patch Tuesday issue I've ever experimented with.
Tip: If you're feeling particularly brave, or have never had problems with Windows updates before, try installing updates together as a group, something that I've also had a lot of success with. NET updates of a particular version together, all of the operating system security updates together, etc.
i hold the on/off button about 30 - 50 second then it automotically off the computer . then it automatically off the computer liao, then i on again , it go to the normal screen liao, oh...yes!!
We'll consider anything that might help prevent problems caused or seemingly caused, by Windows Update.
I'm unable to get the option to boot the server into safe mode (i think that is down to a driver issue) Only thing if have tried so far is booting a win pe disk and deleting the file from the winsxs folder.
It would be to simply stop the automatic update service in the current session.
This would mean that the nagging screens asking you to reboot would not appear in this session only.
