Until the release of Mac OS X Lion (10.7.x), Java was included with the operating system.Starting with Mac OS X Lion (10.7.x), Apple does not include Java by default and installation has to be done manually.Select and click on the package you want to install.
After the latest round of Apple’s Java updates, some Java-based applications began exhibiting problems.
There is no need to remain connected to the Internet during the installation.
The file can also be copied to and installed on another computer that is not connected to the Internet.
It is a proper installer (no zip files), with a self-extracting download that leads you through the installation process.
For those who prefer not to use the Installer, the packages and zip files are still available on our package download page. If the Eclipse Foundation is the Publisher, you are good to select Run.
